This Week in Speech

                        fiveforfriday2_thumb[3]

What a fabulous week this has been!  I absolutely LOVE Halloween and am so excited that it's on a Friday this year :)  Today I'm linking up with Doodle Bugs Teaching for Five For Friday and also with Old School Speech for the Week in Review. Yay!

This week we have been doing so many great things in my speech room:

Divider 1

Of course we've been reading Room on the Broom, by Julia Donaldson ALL week long (and a little of last week too!)  We've also been using the book companion that I made to go along with it. You can grab that in my TpT shop here

I've also been using my Fall Print and Go Language and Articulation Packs. They have been super helpful during this busy week. I love the two monsters below!

Pumpkins are everywhere!  My students have enjoyed making pumpkins this week :) As you can see there is quite the variety! One idea is from Crazy Speech World- LOVE it! We used the pumpkins for all types of goals- articulation words, synonyms, antonyms, multiple meaning words, etc.

Another book that my students have loved this week (and last!) is the book What was I Scared of, by Dr. Seuss.  I found this great book in the app store for $1.  It's certainly been a hit!

And one last thing- my husband and I took a trip with friends to the mountains last weekend. We really got to enjoy the fall weather in all it's glory :)

Be sure and check out Doodle Bugs Teaching and Old School Speech for other great weekly reviews!
Happy Halloween!!!!

Wild About Books Wednesday Linky

Man, it's been a busy week! But, I'm making it through and looking forward to a nice long weekend!! :)

Anyways, I'm linking up with Scarlett, from Speech is Sweet, for Wild About Books Wednesday. This week I thought I'd share a book I've been using on the iPad. It's called, What was I Scared of? by Dr. Seuss.

It's a great book for this time of year with Halloween right around the corner. The story is filled with lots of great vocabulary, action words, and of course rhyming words!  It's a silly/scary book that my kiddos have really enjoyed.

The amazon link is included, and it's also in the app store for $1 :)

Head on over to Speech is Sweet to learn about more fun books!

Fall Print & Go Language Pack

October is a CRAZY month for me- I have 7 IEP meetings this week- and many more in the following weeks! I just finished this pack and am so excited to use it to get me through the rest of Fall :)  It's super easy to prep- just print, and you're ready to go!  It targets following 1-2 step directions (using concepts like before/after, if/and, and both), prepositions, pronouns, naming objects when described, and categories.  Activities are targeted for pre-k through 2nd grade, depending on the student's level.  Included are Fall and Halloween activities. You can find it in my TpT shop here.

Here's a sneak peek at the pack:

Hope this pack helps make your work lives a little easier too!! :)
